Campfire Entertainment

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee."

~ Isaiah 41:10, 13 ~

Monday, we officially purchased the strip of land to the back of our property and had the tiles delivered for the driveway. It doesn't sound like much, but that is a BIG step! Now there will be progress! We've been tied up in red tape for so long, it's hard to grasp the reality that it's time to move forward!

There's never a dull moment.....even when camping! Soooooooo here are some campfire pastimes we all enjoy. : )

Playing the string bass
Not quite the most advanced specimen in this field....... : )

Chopping, chopping, chopping...

...and chopping

After a while, in order to keep sanity, we have to invent new entertainment, and as those grow to be categorized as mundane, the daring and adventurous become inviting.

So what is the outcome? A burnt hole in the seat of the pants if the jester is not careful! : )

Yes....

Jack may be nimble.....

and Jack may be quick.....

but here is a pic

of Ray's new trick!

We're just glad it wasn't like our last trip down......

We had heard of a "controlled burn", but we didn't know we would get to witness one.

The sign that greeted us

The day we were leaving, Keisha was making her way up to the bathhouse and hollered back to the rest of us at the camper that there was a fire in a site right across the road. It wasn't alarming, but we thought surely the rangers would have the presence of mind to move the picnic table before setting fire. Ray thought we were crazy because, after all, it was a control burn and the rangers would know about it ~ there was no need to alert them. Keisha called and the ranger said he was on his way to get water...all the while thanking her for calling. The "janitor" just happened to be driving around the circle in his Gator, saw the smoke, cut through the circle, and took off back the way he had come...definitely in a frenzy about something! It wasn't but a minute when they both arrived on the scene. Huh...it's funny how they respond so quickly to a fire that's supposed to be there! ; )

Hmmmmm.......we'd have liked to have seen Ray jump this one!

Let's pack up and go home!.......Something like the Beverly Hillbillies, but whether it looks so or not, it is organized! : )

"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."

~ Psalm 90:2 ~
