The Three Couponateers

"I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed."

Psalm 37:25-26

It is always amazing to see the many ways that the Lord provides for us. God has promised to meet each and every one of our needs and has been faithful to do that and bless abundantly more than we could ever ask or think! One of those ways that He has provided for us is through couponing. We would recommend you not trying this lest you become addicted to saving money.....LOTS of money. It takes some work and a little bit of brains here and there, but as in everything, what you get out of it depends on how much effort you put into it. Our Three Couponateers work very diligently, and (lucky us!) the whole family reaps the benefits of their labors. : )

It all starts Sunday morning with the Sunday paper......yes, all twelve of them. : ) Then comes the job of sorting them.

Mom is our "coupon-clipper". It only takes a short while before the coupons are all clipped and in neat little piles ready to be sorted into the books.

Then comes the brain work. What?!? You're getting all those groceries for.....FREE?!? Not to mention what you get for practically nothing! Our Three Couponateers do a great job!

It simply would not seem right to ignore our cute little kitties. There are no "little guys" around our house anymore, so the kittens get their share of attention. Hardly an hour goes past that someone doesn't pass through the back porch, and we hear a cry of, "Oh! Come look at what the kitties are doing!" Of course, if we all stopped what we were doing every time we were supposed to "come look at the kitties" we would get nothing done, but there are generally a few takers. : )

They are soooooooo CUTE!!!!!!

Happy Birthday, Keisha!

Today Keisha turned.........(ahem!).........shall we say, another year older? : ) Birthdays around our house are a very special time for all of us, but they can bring out the mischievousness in the best of us.

A hi-jacked present???????

Keisha and Allison made the cake this morning.

After lunch, most of us girls got together and played "Life". If the real thing is anything like the game, it can be smooth at times, but it also can get pretty desperate, aggravating, and confusing. Praise the Lord that He gave us all the answers to the real thing in His Word!

Christina won the game, then we all dispersed again to the various things that needed to be accomplished. The festivities resumed when we brought out the cake after supper.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEISHA!!!!

Each Day is a New Beginning

Today marked the first day of the new schoolyear for Allison. 9th grade..... Wow!!! She had prepared for this day a couple weeks ago, so this morning she got up bright and early ready to whisk right through it. Her morning consisted of Bible reading, practicing her trumpet, math, science, history, reading, spelling, and English with a few breaks here and there. By lunchtime, she had finished all her work and was free the rest of the day!

Now that Sara has graduated, Allison is the only one still in school. It seems a little odd not having so many books scattered about......

While Allison perused the pages of her schoolbooks, the rest of us persued other challenges of the everyday life such as picking vegetables from our garden. The Lord has provided us with fresh vegetables in abundance all through the summer, and even now, when the garden is almost all dried up because of the parching sun, we still got enough greenbeans for a good-sized meal, several tomatoes, and quite a few hot banana peppers..... and, as always, the kittens were right in the middle of everything! Curious little things!

After supper, we finished getting our prayer letters ready for mailing. We formed an assembly line and the task went quickly. As the saying goes, "many hands make light work", and willing hands make the work enjoyable. What a fun time we had working together!

M&M's taste better than glue, y'know!!!

Happy New Year!

Yesterday was New Year's Day (for hunters)! Our two Rays and Sara rang in the new year with 12's (12 gauge shotguns, that is). They came home with nine doves, and that's when the fun started for the rest of us! You see, we have five kittens. When they took the birds outside to clean them, the kittens thought it was a special treat just for them. What fun! The kittens had to settle for the feathers (and a few left overs). Clarkey enjoyed the feathers the most!
