There's Nothing Like......Camping!

A family camping trip is always a fun, relaxing way to get away and spend time together without the schedules or even the hustle and bustle of every day life. It was good to be able to just sit and chit-chat, laugh, and......well......spend time together. : ) There's nothing like having fun with family!

The little ones were soooooo cute!

And we older ones delighted in telling them so......over and over and over again. : )

You can't see me!

Saturday, Valerie and Angie had the sweet surprise of getting to celebrate their birthdays together. Valerie was Angie's 10th birthday present many years ago. There's nothing like celebrating your birthday with your sister! Happy Birthday to the "Ten-Year Twins"!

Just imagine yourself having indulged in a big, camp-style picnic where you have the best of the best, eating a big piece of birthday cake with that thick icing birthday cakes are known for, then rushing off to ride the aerial tram down the steep mountain to the river. Not a good idea for those who are prone to motion sickness......nevertheless, that is just what we did!
It was really a beautiful view with lush, green mountains surrounding us and a creek or cave dotting the mountainside. There's just nothing like the floating sensation of riding down the mountainside in a glass bubble. : )

Down at the river, we were able to wander about putting our feet in the water, taking pictures, or whatever suited our fancy.

Dad holding Abigail.......there's just nothing like spoiling a grandbaby! : )

One of the old laws of gravity states that whatever goes up must come down, but in this case, the reverse is true......what goes down must come up ~ the same way! Ummmmmm......people, that is. : )

Angie, Keisha, Al, and little Abigail

That evening, all of us "kids" geared up for a visit to the stables. We hadn't ridden since our trip to Mexico in '97, so this was a special treat.

Mounting wasn't too bad, but then they turned us loose in the corral so we could get used to the fine beasts while the rest were taking to their saddle.

Allison's doin' purty good fur her first horse ride!

Lining up!.....or should we say, "Ready for the take off!"

We had a wonderful hour riding on trails through the woods. Up hills, down hills, through the mud, over rocks.....into trees. : )

Sara's Merry-Go-Round picture.....do you agree? : )

"Happy trails to you until we meet again...." There's just nothing like backwoods West Virginia women serenading you as you take the last leg of the journey. : )

The Lord has blessed us with such a wonderful family! There's just nothing like 'em in all the world. : ) Love to you all!
