There's Nothing Like......Camping!
A family camping trip is always a fun, relaxing way to get away and spend time together without the schedules or even the hustle and bustle of every day life. It was good to be able to just sit and chit-chat, laugh, and......well......spend time together. : ) There's nothing like having fun with family!
Saturday, Valerie and Angie had the sweet surprise of getting to celebrate their birthdays together. Valerie was Angie's 10th birthday present many years ago. There's nothing like celebrating your birthday with your sister! Happy Birthday to the "Ten-Year Twins"!
Just imagine yourself having indulged in a big, camp-style picnic where you have the best of the best, eating a big piece of birthday cake with that thick icing birthday cakes are known for, then rushing off to ride the aerial tram down the steep mountain to the river. Not a good idea for those who are prone to motion sickness......nevertheless, that is just what we did!
It was really a beautiful view with lush, green mountains surrounding us and a creek or cave dotting the mountainside. There's just nothing like the floating sensation of riding down the mountainside in a glass bubble. : )
Down at the river, we were able to wander about putting our feet in the water, taking pictures, or whatever suited our fancy.
Crystal and Laura
One of the old laws of gravity states that whatever goes up must come down, but in this case, the reverse is true......what goes down must come up ~ the same way! Ummmmmm......people, that is. : )
That evening, all of us "kids" geared up for a visit to the stables. We hadn't ridden since our trip to Mexico in '97, so this was a special treat.
Mounting wasn't too bad, but then they turned us loose in the corral so we could get used to the fine beasts while the rest were taking to their saddle.
We had a wonderful hour riding on trails through the woods. Up hills, down hills, through the mud, over rocks.....into trees. : )

Purrrrrrrr-fection
I might begin this post with a question......does anyone want an absolutely beautiful, cute, sweet, adorable, snuggly kitten????? We have six you can choose from..... : )
Saturday morning, Bubbles (our spoiled mama cat), sat right in the middle of our front door "talking" to us....pleading for us to please let her in. Even though Mom had said there were to be no kittens born inside this time, her soft heart gave way. Bubbles made her way to the office spying out the room for the perfect place to make her bed. She settled on the bottom shelf behind the door, and, as if to make her wishes known, she climbed to the back of the shelf and started pushing the books and binders out into the floor. We took the hint and cleared it out the rest of the way for her, adding a little bit of scrap cloth and old dish towels. That evening and throughout the night she delivered six precious bundles. We have enjoyed holding and cuddling them! Soooooooo sweet!
